E-Mux 4D / E-Mux 8D : Expandable multiplexer for instruments

The E-Mux4 and E-Mux8 multiplexers allow the communication of 1 to 4 and 1 to 8 instruments respectively with a PC or other similar device equipped with an RS 232 interface or a USB port.

The E-Mux are modular, and can be added to each other up to 99 inputs.

General Informations

The E-Mux4 and E-Mux8 multiplexers allow the connection of 1 to 8 measuring instruments (caliper, micrometer, comparators, scales, etc.) with a PC or other similar equipment equipped with a USB port. In addition, these multiplexers are chainable to each other, and can be installed on standard DIN rails. The multiplexer supports measuring instruments equipped with the following interfaces:

  • Digimatic: Mitutoyo, Mahr
  • Opto RS232: Sylvac, Tesa, Bowers etc..
  • RS232
  • Uni or bipolar analog outputs, voltage or current.

Instrument recognition is automatic.

Instrument reading

The reading of the instruments is possible throught three different ways:

  • A software request received on the communication port (USB).
  • An action on a footswitch connected to the E-Mux.
  • An action on the transfer button of the instrument.

This configuration allows the PC to acquire measurements from the various instruments. The Winmux software allows direct entry into the Excel or Open Office spreadsheet.
